These ancient glazes had its heyday during the Sung dynasty (960 years to 1279), but were produced from the T'ang dynasty (years 618 to 906).
The T'ang period was a time of advances in techniques and changes in aesthetic appreciation, perhaps because of commercial contacts with the Near East.
In this period the pieces were characterized with incisions and reliefs of dragons and lotus flowers covered by a gray-green glaze, is now known as celadon.
similar appearance to jade, stone highly prized by the Chinese, considering with magical properties, made these parts were of great esteem by the ancients.
During the Sung dynasty there is a refinement of old forms, it is said that potters at the time, could dominate the rooms, making the insurmountable darkroom work made by sharp reductions in the celadon.
celadon glazes corresponds to a line of nail transparent or semi-opaque look shiny or matte, with or without the crackle of a delicate green, or blue-green greyish-green, produced by the effect of reducing iron oxide-containing.
glazes are its qualities are very attractive on porcelain, but on stoneware can give very interesting results.
